Mirror MIrror on the Wall...

So remember this beautiful, larger than life mirror I had in my house?
I had a love hate relationship with it since we bought the house.
I loved it because it gave so much light.
I hated it because it took up the one big wall in my house that I could use for a gallery wall.
I loved it because I could see my whole self in the mirror and get the idea what my "outfits" looked like.
I hated it because I saw myself every time I walked by.
I loved it because it  made the room feel so big and open.
I hated it because it was so ugly and dated.
So I finally talked Trent into taking it down last spring.
One day when we have a nice big chunk of change I want to tare down this wall and make my kitchen big and open.  But for now, I just wanted the mirror down.
So Trent went to work one day and had our neighbor come over with is glass suction cups and take it down. It was a heavy sucker and over 7 ft long.
But it came down without anyone getting hurt or it breaking.
Here is what it looked like afterward. It did some damage too the wall on the side but luckily it wasn't glued to the wall its self. Some sanding and painting and its almost as it was never there, unless you look closely you can see on the sides, so don't look!
We put it on KSL and it took a month or so but finally sold for over $100 and they came and took it off our hands.  We tried to sell it for me, we got it appraised by a glass company that said it was basically an antique and worth over $500!! But no one would take it for that. So we finally settled on $100.

It was blank for months after I painted it.  I have had no idea what to do to the wall.
I wanted to do a gallery wall but that means I have to go get a bunch of frames and decorate it and since I'm such a nervous nelly when it comes to putting things on the wall I just left it blank. And it takes money to make a huge wall like this look good.
I also want to do big chunky stripes horizontally on this wall, but the couch that is right next to this room is plaid. And well, plaid and stripes just don't go.  I want to get rid of it, and get some neutral couch but for now thats not gonna happen.
So I just decided the stripes will have to wait.
So last weekend I just used what I had and made a small display. I need to get some bigger chunkier frames on a few of the pictures and I'd love a small/skinny console table under it but for now this will do.
And its not crooked like it looks, for some reason my phone takes crooked pictures sometimes even when I think they are straight.
And for those of you wondering?
I actually did regret taking it down for the first few weeks. The house felt so small and I dont' have a full length mirror anywhere in my house so I struggled getting dressed. But I do like that its gone now. And don't regret it.  I like my house!
