The Name Game

Now that I know we are having a boy I can't help but want to name him. Its all I've been thinking about. I was before I found out. I keep telling Trent names, "what about this?" He says, "Maybe." Why is it that boys have an opinion about every name. He says oh that sounds like this or like that. AHHH
When I was pregnant with Ruby but didn't know what we were having I had two boy names all picked out. It was one or the other no doubt. Well, then we found out it was girl and we were blown away. We struggled forever. And towards the end it came down to two names, Ruby of course being one of them. I couldn't call her that for about a month. Every time anyone asked me about her I would say, my daughter, how weird is that. I just couldn't get it to fit her. A lot probably had to do with the fact that my Grandma is still living and that is her name. Then it finally just hit me one day, that Ruby was her name. And she is a little Ruby.
The funny thing is with this baby we had the girl name all picked out, the other one we were going to use for Ruby. Trent was even calling her (when we didn't know) the name. Now I can't use it, I am bummed. Well, now I am back to picking for a boy. The two names I had before are still in the running but now Trent doesn't like them as much. I try to talk him into them everyday. (I am not giving them away just yet, it seems every time I say a name I want someone takes it. Which is ok, but I am not going there just yet).
So if you have some boys names that you aren't afraid to throw out there, I would love to hear some. I know I have 4 months left, but well, its fun.

Dan never wants to talk about names either. So frustrating. We didn't name Charlotte for several days after she was born. Good luck:)

I really like Landon. Maybe you don't, but it's something.

That's funny, because the first time I saw Ruby I thought that she looked like a Ruby. OK, I know it's weird, but seeing as how I am married to a Colombian we will never us the name, but I have always loved the name Finn (short for Finneous). I don't blame you if you hate it, I just think it's cute. Oh, and I agree with Sammy, Fisher would also be very cute. (which is odd that with me it's fisher or fin. Could I be obsessed with the aquatic genre?)

Jake did NOT like the name Emmy at first. I had to talk him into it :) It's so hard picking a name. And I think boy names are a lot harder!

Good luck picking out a boy name-it was hard finding a name that both Darwin and I liked. Hurley fits though. I really like the name Luke-we didn't use it though because it is sooo popular. I really like Cooper, Trey, Blake, Mason, and Tyler. (And Fisher and Landon. I asked Darwin about Landon and he said that he liked Lando better-odd.)

im with you on the name thing. we don't even tell the name we picked until the baby is born. Otherwise people love to give there two cents about the name. but if there is a face to go with it then they don't say stupid things. like... "your naming him Locke? like lock the door?" Yes lady, just like that.

Ok, so I LOVE the name Xaden (pronounced zayden). We will never use it because our friends came up with that name for their little boy and they would not be happy if we used it becuase they like to be original. But you can cause you don't know them. :) Another idea. Congrats on the boy!!
