We celebrated on his actual birthday with our family. He opened presents that morning and was so excited to get a snow cone machine.
But the best present of all was his new bike! Huddy loves going on bike rides with Trent and they go almost every night but he's been in desperate need of a new bike that fits him. He will go at all times of the day to ride.
We took the kids bowling and to lunch during the day. They had a blast!
Hudson is quite the perfectionist and was getting so frustrated that he
wasn't doing well bowling without the bumpers or the bowling helper bar thing (he
thought they were for babies) but after a few bad rounds he decided to
try it and although he still felt it was for babies he was happy that his score was going up!
Life goes by so fast and this one has grown up so fast right before my eyes!
Being
the first born in our family and first grandchild born on the Speechly
side he sure has been spoiled and loved doing everything "first!"
He thrives on attention and when he doesn't get it seems to act up or shut down, so personal one on one dates with Trent and I alone are key. He opens up and comes out of his shell and is so happy.
Most of the time this kid is a great kid, but he is a kid and goofy kid at that!
He
is so quiet around most people, especially adults, but for some reason
when this kids gets with other kids or friends he is crazy! His teacher
said he is a class clown.
He is such a smartie pants though.
He used to love to read but lately not so much, hopefully its just a phase but either way he still has to read everyday.
I love when he wants me to hug him or snuggle him because it doesn't happen as much anymore. A few weeks ago he had a bad toothache from a tooth that would not budge, so I took full advantage of the "mommy time" he needed. But latter that night Trent took advantage of the wiggly tooth and pinned him down and pulled it out! Now now, I know it looks so mean but the kid had been crying all day and the tooth was hanging by a thread, it needed to come out and didn't hurt at all. Its not like he hasn't lost teeth before, silly boy!
He's still doing Suzuki piano and still really seems to like it. He usually practices just fine, because he knows when he does he gets "screen time". He is getting really good and I hope he continues to love it.
He is also a great helper and I love that he can help more during the summer. I make his chore list each day, its different and he usually gets right on them. His new favorite chore, vacuuming. Too bad because its one of the ones I like doing, why can't he like doing the dishes or laundry?
He is also a good helper with the younger kids. He loves to help with Finn but is becoming a typical big brother and teases Ruby a little more than I like. I don't think he could walk past her without touching her and well, then that means a scream follows. ugh
One their way to the Father and son campout, a highlight of the summer!
Happy Birthday to my sweet boy, so proud of him and so excited to see him get baptized.
