I am so blessed to have some amazing Grandparents.
I have been so lucky to have grown up close to both of them and now have had them be apart of my children's lives.
My Grammy, Phyllis Savage was the recipient of an amazing award, the 2012 Huntsman Award for educational volunteering, given by John Huntsman and his wife every year.
She has volunteered an estimated 8,000 hours at Dee Elementary, an inner city school,
in the past 13 years since she retired after 45 years of teaching,
She goes to Dee and other elementary schools as well as the Treehouse Museum in Ogden, to play the piano and sing with the kids, for free! So when they asked her to come play at an assembly that day she thought she was there for just that. So boy was she surprised to see my cousins, friends, family, media, me, and Mrs. Huntsman herself there.
Here she is with Mrs. Huntsman, what an honor.
I couldn't think of anymore more deserving.
I am so proud to be her granddaughter and love this lady so much!
She is an amazing and I want to be like her!
To have been through so much throughout her life and then to turn around and dedicate her time to these inner city kids and be so kind, selfless, and loving, is truly amazing. she is one amazing lady and I'm grateful she is my Grandmother. I love her so much and I love that she has been apart of my children's lives. I just hope they always remember her.
And and on a side note, this lady is going strong at 81!

She is the kindest sweetest lady in the world. You are so lucky to have her. I observed her my first year of teaching 16 years ago. She is amazing.
