Behind on blogging again, so bare with me as I catch up.
In April we loaded up the van and headed to Colorado to visit my sister Sammy and her family for Easter. Our little family has never been on a trip by ourselves. Trent and I have gone a quite a few trips alone but our little individual family has always gone on trips with extended family.
This little family road trip was just what we needed.
Plus we were missing Sammy, Erik and cousin Violet.
The kids were so good in the car....
Thanks to Little pet shops, dvd's, and treats and prizes that were given at every stop if they were good. And Trent and I felt like we got some "alone" time talking in the car.
We stopped half way in Grand Junction, Co (not impressed) and stayed a nice hotel, swam, ate dinner, and tried to get some rest. The kids were given new matching jammies at the hotel as their reward for being good.
They loved it!
Sleeping in one bedroom as a family of 5 was not the funnest. Trent and I didn't feel well that night, we blame the applebee's in Grand Junction. So we just wanted to sleep but Hudson and ruby wanted to watch a movie and because they were watching a movie Finn wouldn't go to sleep. And he was way to big for the hotel crib they provided. So we didn't get much sleep but it made for a nice quiet car ride the next morning when they all slept.
Made me grateful for our 5 bedroom house, everyone gets their own room. Except Trent and I, but I like it that way.
The next morning we stopped a cool Park City like town and road the gondola up the mountain to a amusement park. They were doing a lot of construction so we just walked around but had a good time.
Daddy and finney exploring the caves.
The drive to Colorado was beautiful. We took the Mountainous route, through Veil, it was amazing! the altitude was a bit hard to handle at times in the car and there were a few tunnels along the way. So for a a mom that gets carsick easy and is claustrophobic, it was a bit much but the kids loved it!
Finn kept yelling, "cool!"
The night we arrived in Highlands Ranch, Co, we just relaxed at sammys house. We feel in love immediately with her city immediately. She feed us dinner and then we headed to the mall. WOW what a mall. The kids of course were immediately drawn to the Lego store. Hudson filled up a bucket full and had a blast building all week.
The next day was spent relaxing, exploring highlands ranch, taking the kids to the park. That night when Erik got off work we headed to Denver. It was so fun to explore, felt a bit like Salt lake. We ate dinner at the hard rock cafe which was a disaster! Finn wouldn't take a nap that day so he was so tired and did not want to sit for dinner.
We did a bit of shopping that night. I had my first experience at HandM and it didn't disappoint. Luckily I had some birthday money to spend.
The next morning, Violet wouldn't wake up so Finn handled that for us!
He LOVES Violet more than anything.
Violet loved having Finn over but I think the constant kisses, hugs, and wrestling was a bit much.
It was good practice though having her cousins there, because she is due to be a big sister pretty much any day now.

come back!!! Seriously that was so fun, and so long ago! not really, but almost 2 months now. WOW time is flying by way to quickly. Hope you can make it out to see Baby Sister, if not we'll be out (hopefully) in July! Love you guys, we miss you so much! So glad you guys had a good time and were able to come play for a bit!
You must have gone to the Park Meadows mall! That place is gorgeous. I love the pottery barn kids there and the Nordstrom. Jami has also taken me to two fabulous outlet malls nearby and to the 16th street mall (where you're at in the picture). Ohhhh, so much shopping....so little time :)
