My Time Out

As a mom, most of my day consists of wiping boogies, butts, and counters. 

And lets face it by the end of the night we are exhausted and just want to relax. At least I do. 

So I take a full time out when all are in bed and veg in front of the tube for a few hours. 

 Trent has bishopric on Tuesdays and teaches 2 other nights a week, so the tv keeps me company.

I get a break from reality and get to relax and unwind.

But when we decided to cancel cable I was a bit devastated. 

Yes I know I am pathetic, but it was so nice to have. 

One of the main reasons I loved cable was there was always something on to watch, kids shows, HGTV, Food Network, Disney, NickJr, but now we are limited to the basics and Discovery and Travel Channel. (Trent and I love Discovery Channel so I'm happy we at least have that). 

We also had DVR, still mourning over that one.

The nice thing about DVR was that you could record anything (or should I say, everything) and you never miss a show. 

We do have Netflix but I'm not really a fan, it kind of sucks, but the kids love it. 

Now, I usually don't get to lay down in front of the TV until between 8 or 9:00, so I miss most or all of my shows. 

Trent and I end up watching the 9:00 show or catching up on the laptop. 

I am loving a few new shows that are out there and enjoying some old ones.  

One new show we love but always miss when its on is Grimm.  

It is so creepy and clever. 

I love the twist on the Grimm Fairy tales with each crime. 

We end up watching this on the laptop Saturday nights before we go to bed, check it out. 

So good!

Have you seen Person's of Interest? 

OH MY HECK, SO GOOD! 

First off, I have always loved Jim Cavezal. So handsome and mysterious and he does an amazing job. 

Then throw in "Ben" from Lost and you have a perfect combination. 

Another new show that we are loving is The Firm.  

First off, Isn't Josh Lucas dreamy? Heck yes he is!!!

They did a fabulous job casting him as Mitch McDeer. 

And as much as I love me some Tommy (Tom Cruise who played this part in the movie), I think he plays this part perfect! And just as nice to look at.

A few other Drama's we also like are House, Fringe (but we are Way behind), Hawaii 5 0, and I still love Greys and Parenthood and usually watch those alone.

We have always LOVED The Big Bang Theory.  

Sheldon Cooper or as I like to call him, Shelly is so dang funny! And I love his relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler (aka Blossom). so funny!!!

This show is so hilarious and so clever.

Who would've ever though Scientists could be so entertaining.

I also love that the reruns are on now so we watch old episodes at 10:00 and laugh our heads off. 

But does Howard Wolowitz(the guy in the green?) give anyone else the willies? He bugs me and  I cringe whenever he open his mouth he's kinda creepy, but funny. 

But, the others are so good they make up for him.

The other comedies we love are Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and Modern Family.

 And last but not least, most nights I can't go to bed without watching the first 10-15 minutes of Jimmy. 

Yes I know its late and I should be early to bed, early to rise, but I love him!

I always have! I was a fan from day one and he just cracks me up. 

I can't wait till the day when he takes over for Jay, then I won't have to stay up so late.

Unfortunately due to my late night Jimmy habit I can't get my butt out of bed in the morning. 

Lets face it, even when I don't stay up late to watch him I can't get out of bed.

I get up when Hudson does at 8:00 and sometimes he's up and ready and feed before I get out. 

I know I need to fix that.  Don't Judge.
