A few weeks ago my Mom took my sister Sammy, my Grammy, and me on a girls weekend getaway to St. George. We had the best time ever!!! We ate some amazing good, shopped till we literaly dropped, swam, and stayed up late laughing our heads off!
We have tried in the past to plan a girls trip but never could get one together. I'm so glad we finally did, because it was a great break away from the everyday norm and we had a BLAST!

One of the main purposes of going down was to go see the Little Mermaid at Tuchan. I have been dying to see this since I heard they were going to put it on Broadway. I even did a post about it back a few years ago, see HERE. So when I heard they were doing it down in St. George and even better at Tuchan I knew we had to go.
The show was amazing! One great things about Tuchanan is its an outside theater right smack up against the beautiful mountains. And even better they flood this stage and had flowing water the whole time. Made it so real! There are over 10 new songs and I wasn't too happy at first when I heard there were new ones but once the show started I was loving them! They are so good. We even bought the CD and I haven't stopped listening to it since, the music is so good! I have to say our cast was way better for the most part than the Broadway cast (which is what the CD is). Our Ursala was amazing, so much more feisty and mean, loved her! And the little mermaid was so good. Also the costumes were amazing!
I tried to get a good picture of Eric and Ariel after the show for Ruby. We were all a little sad we didn't take her, she would've loved it. She LOVES Little Mermaid. It was nice however not to have her there so we could just go, go, go and do all we wanted. I'm glad we got the CD because she loves it! However, she keeps asking when she can go see it.
We also missed Amy so much too! Next year for sure!
We had some amazing food! We ate at and amazing Gyro place and boy we were in heaven! Sammy and I LOVE Greek food!Sammy and I in our Royal Wedding headbands, aren't they hilarious?
We tried the Sweet Tooth Fairy Cupcakes and i loved the VaNIElla one, in honor of Nie Nie, it was so good! Not sure what my hair was doing in this picture though?
Oh my Grammy is hilarious! We were laughing so hard at her. This hotel didn't have a bedspread, thank heavens! But it did have this weird little blanket at the end for decoration I guess. Well, one day she got cold and tried to cover up with it and Sammy and I were screaming, "Ahh don't touch it, its sick!" But she didn't care, Sammy caught this cute picture of her. She was so great and funny the whole trip! 80 years young and kept up with our late night giggle fests, shopping and going all day long! It wouldn't have been the same trip without her.
On the way home we had to take a potty break and stopped to get a treat. I had to get a picture of it because I LOVE DQ's Cherry dipped cones but you can never find them. So when they had one I had to get one and document it. Yup, I'm a dork!
I remember where I was that day. I was in college and just woke up to get ready for work. Trent had just gotten home from his mission 2 days prior, thank heavens! I had turned on the tv in my parents kitchen while I was getting my breakfast and I saw that one of the buildings was on fire. At that point they weren't sure what was going on. Then moments later I saw the second airplane hit. I was screaming!!! It was so weird and crazy! Well, like everyone else I was glued to the tv all day. My work called and said they were closing to honor all the employee's families that worked in New York. What a sad day in our history!
Well anyway, I just have to thank my mom and Grammy so much for a fabulous trip! It was so good to get away for a few days without kids and get a break. We had a blast and I missed my family so much. It was great to come home and they were so cute when I did. Of course the first out of Hudson and Ruby's mouth after they hugged and kissed me was, "What did you get me?" Too funny. And my little Finney was so cute! He came up to me, with a look of "ahh" and then screamed, hit me said "mama" then screamed, hit me, said "mama" he did that over and over it was so hilarious!
A great girls trip, can't wait to do it again! I hope it becomes a yearly event!
