First day in the 2nd Grade

 My Huddy is in 2nd Grade!!!!!!

 He has been so excited for start school for quite sometime.  The night before we laid out his school clothes, packed his lunch and Trent gave him a special fathers blessing. Ruby said she can't wait to get her blessing when she starts preschool next week.  I love that the kids know how special those are! When he woke up he didn't seem nervous at all. He was a bit tired because it was earlier than he was used to getting up and I'm sure it took him awhile to go to bed.  He'll get used to it, as for me, I hate getting up early, but I guess 7:30 isn't early, yup I'm sooo not a morning person!

 I asked him to do a goofy pose and this is what I got. I love this kid, he is such a goofy boy!

 On his first day of kindergarten 2 years ago the "Magic school Bus" visited our house and gave him some back to school treats to help him have a great year.  Well, the bad thing about doing something cute like that, is that I have to remember and do it every year.  This year I slacked a bit and just bought a few things and didn't package them up but he was excited! Hudson is my smarty pants and doesn't need any luck though!

 He usually walks to and from school, its almost a mile, he walks with his buddies, but on the first day I decided to take him.  Ruby and Finn came along for the ride so we road the elevator at the school because of the stroller.

 Hudson was lucky and got a great teacher this year, actually every year so far he's had great teachers. He has tons of buddies in his class, which I'm not sure is a good thing or a bad thing. This boy loves to talk! Not that any adults would know but when he's around his friends he is a jabber box and a goof ball so hopefully he can follow the rules.

And look at that messy desk? I can't believe the list of school supplies he had to have this year, yikes!! Good thing I only have one kid in school right now!
Why was it so hard for me to leave him at school? Hello he's been going to school for a few years now and I should be used to this. I think he wanted me to leave, he showed no signs of wanting me to stick around so I said good bye got a half hug from him and left.  All while trying to keep my composure as I left.  Why I cry or almost cry? Not sure. Is it because he's my first born? Is it because he's my helper and now I have to do everything by myself till he gets home? Or is it just that I love him so much and I can see the years passing before my eyes? I'm sure all of the above. 

Nothing like cookies and milk to say I love you and welcome you home on the first day of school.


 Ruby and I made Hudson's favorite cookies so he'd have a fun nice treat to come home to on his first day.  His buddy Jaren comes home every Wednesday with Hudson and so he joined in on the fun!
I asked them how their first day was and I got the typical, "good." But then I asked them how their teachers were, they both have different ones, Hudson said, "REALLY NICE, I liked her!" And Jaren said, "AWESOME!" I think its safe to say they both already have a crush. Which is easy when they have super cute, young, teachers!
I am so proud of Hudson. He is such a good boy. He makes us laugh all the time and is such a sweet heart. He is a pretty good kid. He is very helpful and for the most part quite obedient.

He is gonna have quiet a busy schedule this year.  The homework they have in second grade is insane!!! Memorizing poems, spelling, math, sentences, AR reading, 20 min of reading a night, and more. Then he also has piano practice everyday, piano lessons, and soccer.  Although the school year tends to get busy fast I am loving being back on a schedule and I think the kids are too!
