You all know the delima I've been having with Ruby's room. What color to paint her dresser and desk, what bedding to do, and so on. I found super cute amazing furniture, her dresser and desk with a hutch at a yard sale for $50, you'll die when you see them, they have amazing shabby chic lines and curves. I think I'm going to do them in a robin egg blue, distress them a bit, and then get those cute clear/crystal looking knobs. Her bed is white and I got a robin egg blue coverlet and sham that is super cute. I am making a bunch of pillows in different patterns and colors, and then all her decorations, I have lots of butterflies, owls, and tree/flower decorations and things I'm going to do that I've been waiting to put up, and her wall is a light pink. So things are set, other than painting furniture, figuring out if she's staying in her room or going to the other room in the basement (in that case, I have to paint that room) and putting it all together.
My sister and I are hopefully going to tackle this butterfly project this weekend, can't wait!!!!! I bought her some metal butterflies over a year ago at Tai Pan that I am going to hang from the ceiling I can't wait to finally use them, they will go perfect.
Then the other day I was at Downeast Homes and came across some great finds.Gotta love that store, brand new Pottery Barn and other designer items on sale for up to 75% off. The best is when you use a coupon like I did.

I found the green bucket from PB for $5.00 that had a name embroidered on it but I unstitched it and you can't even tell. I using it in the babies room. I went there to get things for his room and only came away with one thing for him but lots for Ruby's room.
And last year I came across this pink canvas storage tote(in the size of the blue) for $5.99 at Downeast. Currently selling on their website for $35.00. Its been great to hold all her stuffed animals and dolls.
Then you all know that I LOVED the Brooke bedding (the owl, tree, and floral bedding over at PB click here to see) for Ruby's room, but seeing as she has a daybed I didn't think the quilt would work sideways and the darn thing just won't go on sale, so I decided I'd do my own thing. But as soon as the sheets go on sale I am going to snag them up. So while at Downeast I came across the owl pillow above for $4.99. Currently priced at $19.00 on their website. I was dying and guess what initial was on the pillow? Yup an "R". I was so excited. I'm still in the process of making the tulle bedskirt and painting furniture, so hopefully before the baby comes her room will be all ready and I can show you the finished product. I am so excited!

And instead of buying these adorable owl pillows from PB, I made up my own pattern and am making them as we speak. I actually started to make them last year, but well, got distrated, so hopefully they turn out cute.
I also have been eyeing this pillow over at PB teens, wondering if I could make a felt pillow similar or just purchase it. Good thing I waited because I found that front pink pillow for $4.99. It has an "N" in the middle which isn't bad considering her middle name is Noel, but I am going to make a cute flower either out of coordinating fabrics from the other pillows and pin it in the middle or make one out of felt.
So stayed turned for the finished product, hopefully sooner than later.
