I am having a hard time finding or choosing bedding for Ruby's room. I want something somewhat little girl yet something a bit sophisticated and well, something that doesn't break the bank. Here are a few of my favorites right now that are great for inspiration and maybe I could afford a few pieces and then come up with something similar. Tell me which one you like.
The above bedding I go to look at often over at Land of Nod. I love that it mixes and matches all the pinks, greens, and blues. I love that fact that the cute floral duvet cover(above), is not too expensive either. Then I could find similar polk a dot sheets somewhere else and make my own pillows to add the mix and match look.
This one above came from an idea I love from Just a Girl. I love her ideas. And its so funny when she posted this awhile back, and I had been thinking of doing some sort of mural on Ruby's wall, I was thinking some sort of tree and walla, there was my inspiration. I love that its similar to the Land of Nod one above and similar to what I was picturing if I did it myself. I also am totally digging the light blue wall with the combo of pinks and greens. Ruby's room has been pink for way too long. I love that she just took a pink quilt and then mixed in a bunch of pillows. I also love the idea because Ruby's bed is a day bed w/a trundle so this gives me an idea what it would look like.
I LOVE this one above too, see why I'm having hard time deciding on an inspiration? It came from Serena and Lily. Well, lets just say its a bit over my price range but I love the combo again of the sea blue and the almost coral color. I know I could find a sheet set similar and make my own duvet cover.
The one below is also Serena and Lily. I am liking the sophisticated look to it. The brown with the light pink, to die for!!! Oh and with a tulle bedskirt in light pink, amazing. But this duvet cover is way over priced. I was thinking I could do the top duvet cover from Land of Nod, or find a light pink floral sheet and make my own and then get some brown, pink, and white polk a dot sheets to go with it, add some brown, pink, and white pillows and the tulle bedskirt and I've done it. For WAY less.

And of course you can't rule out Pottery Barn Kids. Although a the moment I'm not toally in love with anything except this Brooke collection. I love the color combo's, the tree's and owls. I do however know that this is over budget. The one thing I am stealing from this idea is the Tulle bedskirt and mine would just be plain either white, pink, or some matching/contrasting color to the bedding. I am making one for Ruby and its going to be super full. Can't wait to see and show you the finished product, I just need to decide what idea I like and colors so I can start on it.
And the one I love from Pottery Barn Teen. I LOVE this quilt, pink with the Pompoms all over it. I love the combo of the pink, brown and white too. So cute and totally girly yet not too baby. And the sheet sets are on sale right now for $39 can't beat that. I also like the idea of black and pink. Ok, yes you caught me, I am HORRIBLE at making decisions. Ruby's daybed is rod iron white and has a trundle, it was my sisters and Ruby couldn't be happier. So really anything will go well with it, all I have to do is decide.
So now i just need to pick one for my inspiration. I know I'll end up making a few pieces of my own but I'm having a hard time choosing or picking which one I love for the starting point. Which one is your favorite if any?

what a hard decision. I think my fave is the one from serena and lily. ha ha even though thats not making it any easier since its so expensive! LOVE it though, they are all so cute. how fun.
just a girl is my favorite! I love the blue wall with the tree and the pink bedspread!!! Do it!
I love the first two :)
Ooohh...i love all of them and have seen all of them in the catalogs too! I don't know if you have seen, but Target has a pretty good knock off of the pottery barn one...they even have owl pillows and things to match. It's pretty cute...and def cheaper!
Hi April-
They are all super cute! I am thinking of re-doing Makenna's room also & have run into the same hangups. One thing I noticed, since my daughter also has my old daybed- The pottery barn quilt doesn't really work sideways. The trees would all be running side to side instead of up & down. I don't know why, but that really bugged me, so I had to rule that one out. Anyway- hope that helps. The first one is my favorite!
Like the Serena and Lily and the room from Just a Girl. Classic and feminine. I've wanted to do the tree thing, it'd be make such an impact. I am the type to worry about if it could be covered if I wanted to change it and dont know if it'd be easy to cover that up w/just a layer of paint if you did want to change it. Who knows. Its adorable though. And it'd be super fun to do. What I like doing is chosing one item/element that I love that makes an impact like the tree or a bold quilt or pillow and go out from there and keeping youself from looking too much like a page out of a catalog. Love the eclectic type look with personality. The pink/blue is such a refreshing combo. Keep us updated!
I like them all, but I really love the first one. I think it's the most versitile, and you could change things with it should you ever get bored. But I don't think you could go wrong with any of them!
I am the most indecisive person ever, I think they are all adorable and the Tulle bedskirt is a fab idea. What do you think would be the cutest to go with that? I love the idea of a painting a big stencil on the wall. I also love small picture frames all painted white with silhoettes of little girls in them. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
I have been going through the same thing for Morgan! I really love the blue one with the pink flowers, but I do know that Target has the SAME EXACT owl bedding for atleast half the price! I was looking at that one as well, but my girls room is already done in a Hawaiian theme and I am not ready to change it. With Sydney's bedding I found the pottery barn set I liked and got it at Target and it has held up better than the pottery barn crib bedding I got! Good luck!
