When do you......

put up your Christmas lights? Or do you not? (yes this is a little much for me, I like the classic look myself, this is too Griswald for me.)

Start your Christmas shopping?

Put up your Christmas Decorations?

Start listening to Christmas Music?

get a tree or put it up?

I am debating on when I should put my decorations up. I feel like Thanksgiving is so late in the month this year that I won't be able to enjoy my Christmas decorations as much this year if I wait. Plus, last year we moved into our house 4 days before Christmas so we didn't have all our decorations up, not even a tree. Yup we didn't have a tree last year. You can bet I am getting one this year. We usually wait till sometime after the first week in December to get one. I want to get two, but I doubt that will happen, since my hubby won't even put lights up on our house. I would do it myself, I have in the past but well, being preggers, I have been advised not too. Probably a good idea. I talk to him about our Christmas lights on our house daily and well, I'm losing the battle so far.
The one thing about decorating for Christmas each year is I realize how little decorations I have and how I want more. And well, more means spending money which is tight this year. I think I will probably start decorating next week, it will probably take me awhile anyways to get it just right.
I have however already started to listen to Christmas music and I'm LOVING it. Thank you FM 100.3.
And the shopping, yup, started that too. I am actually a little behind this year. Girls, easy, the only hard thing is that her b-day is a few days before Christmas so how do I make it fair? And then I'm struggling a bit with Hudson. I love to get the kids 1 big thing thats unwrapped from Santa, but I don't know what to do for Hudson. And hopefully this year I won't get the stomach flu so I can go shopping the day after Thanksgiving, if they have good sales.

Everything Christmas starts the day after Thanksgiving for me. Everything except shopping that is. I shop for Christmas all year round really. It's just remembering that I've already bought things earlier in the year....

I love love love Christmas. I buy my ornaments in July at the Hallmark ornament debut. NO MUSIC until Thanksgiving because it gets old if you start it to early. Tree goes up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Shopping is usually done by Thanksgiving with just odds and ends but I am a little out of odds since the loss of our son in July. My nativity goes up the first of November and stays up until the last few weeks in January. I love nativities. There.

I say jump on it! I like to enjoy my Christmas decor for much longer than one month, plus I started a couple of weeks ago and just barely finished yesterday. I still need to tackle the front yard, but that'll happen tomorrow I am hoping! Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday, but Christmas decor is my favorite so I like to combine! Shopping is usually almost done, but not this year. We need to get on that Sis! OH love Christmas music anytime after Halloween!

I'm one that Christmas shops all year. The Christmas lights go up in November sometime, usually a warm weekend, but ARE NOT turned on until the day after Thanksgiving. Christmas music is a definite NO until the day after Thanksgiving, as well. We will put up all of our Christmas decorations throughout F, Sa, Su after Thanksgiving.
I love Thanksgiving, I always have and it drives me nuts that everyone usually just ignores it and moves straight from Halloween to Christmas. Thanksgiving has been able to avoid the commercial holiday that almost every other holiday has become. It is about family and friends. It is about showing gratitude and appreciation to those around us. It is about truly being Thankful for all we've been given and is an opportunity to reflect on the year.
Happy Thanksgiving!
