Sick and Tired

Thursday night Ruby cried all night. She woke up literally every 20 minutes from 11:00 -3:00 and then every hour after that. On Friday morning she just didn't seem herself, whining and moaning a lot. But I had a ton of errands to run so I my mom and I just thought we could hurry. While we were at the fabric store, my said that Ruby felt warm, but not too warm. So we continued on, we were almost finished. About 20 minutes later, my mom said to me that she was burning up, and boy was she ever. Well, since she hadn't eaten or slept well and had a fever and it was the weekend I thought I better take her to the Dr since it was the weekend. So my mom took Hudson with her and I took Ruby.
Well, 102 fever, and super sick. She looked awful, and it all hit within a matter of minutes.
They checked her ears, no infection.
They ran a strep test both in the mouth and down there, Negative. She threw up from it though, (remember we are sooo gaggy), on her clothes and blanky, so she was so sad and cold, only had a onesie.
Then they did an RSV test and a Flu test, which consists of sticking a q-tip up the nose twice on both sides. She got a bloody nose from that for nothing because, Negative.
The last resort was a urine culture for a bladder infection. Well, lets just say, I cried just about as hard as she did. I had to hold her down while the intern tried 3 times, yes 3 times to do the catheter. Then the Dr. finally tried on the 4th time and got it. Poor baby girl. She was tortured.
Well, in between getting the results from the urine test, she fell asleep in my arms, I had to try and calm her and rock her and she just feel asleep. That has never happened since she was an infant. She just doesn't snuggle. I loved it, so I had to take a picture of it, even though I didn't like the circumstances that made it happen.
Then the Dr. came in to give results, she heard her voice and woke up in a panic screaming. I felt so bad, I think she thought they were back to torture her again.
Urine culture, Negative.
The Dr said teething wouldn't cause that high of a fever, but just didn't know what it was. So they told me a few things to watch for and bring her in immediately if I noticed any of them and to push fluids.
She didn't sleep any better that night either and was still whinny and cranky and wouldn't eat on Saturday, but about 5:00 on Sat night, she perked up, her fever broke, and she was a new girl. And she's been our happy, funny girl since. Just weird.

Ohhh how sad!! :( I'm already dreading when Grayson gets sick -- that's got to be the worst to see your baby go through that! I'm glad she's feeling better, though!

That is awful! I'm sorry you guys had to go through all that, but I'm glad she's feeling better! That is really weird that they couldn't figure it out!

That is so weird, Bing went threw the same thing on Sat we arrived in Vegas and I took him out of the car and he felt extrememly hot. He moped around all day. I gave him tylenol but it didn't help much. He was fussy all night and well you saw him last night at moms. Crazy they get the same on different sides of the state! She looked so beautiful yesterday it makes me nervous to have a girl!!!

I feel for you, Gracie has had like over a dozen caths and the dye test they do at the hospital. She is still traumatized from it. I'm just glad Ruby is feeling better, that is scary when your kids get a fever.

Poor Ruby!! So weird!!! I am glad she is doing better. Emma is the same way, she only snuggles when she is sick..that's how I know she is really not feeling good.
