We love smoothies at our house.
But we've been missing them.
My blenders been broken for awhile now.
And well, seeing as we got it for our wedding over 9 years years ago it was probably time.
(btw, anyone else think after 10 years of marriage, its time to have another shower? All my things seem to be breaking, lost, not working or just plan, well, out dated and there are so many other cool things!)
So I finally got a new one the other day.
I would have gotten a new one awhile ago, but I was holding out for a nice vitamix or Blendtec, but well, Santa didn't bring one.
I was at Costco the other day and they had a basic blender on sale so I grabbed it.
And it works great but I'd sure love a vitamix so I can stuff more veggies in there.
The kids were thrilled because they LOVE smoothies and I do too.
And some days its the only way I know they actually getting enough fruits and veggies.
Finn LOVED it.
I fill them full of spinach, blueberries and other fruit on hand, a little yogurt, flax seed, and juice, water, or almond milk.
My kids LOVE almond milk!
And well, Trent and I do too!
Its good for Trent because he doesn't like milk but he'll drink a glass of almond milk.
The kids and I drink regular milk but I usually buy one vanilla or chocolate almond milk whenever its on sale, or when my kids beg for it, for smoothies, cereal or just to drink.
It tastes great and is really good on cereal.
Try it, seriously sooo good!
And WAY better than soy, yuck!
Well, and it doesn't hurt that its good for you.
And the cutest girl ever, Sherice posted on her blog (which by the way is the cutest blog ever! I know her and she is the cutest dang thing ever! Beware you'll want to be like her after reading her blog!) about how she makes her kids an after school snack smoothie with almond chocolate milk, banana, natural PB and flax seed.
(picture taken from her blog, hope you don't mind Sherice!)
So I made it and well, it was amazing!
We've had it a few times already and Love it!
Seriously tastes like a PB chocolate milk shake without the ice cream and crap.
Try it!
But beware, you'll be addicted!
We are.
Smoothies make for one happy baby!
Love his little smoothie mustache.
He was so happy while he was drinking it.
And then cried when it was all gone.

We definitely are meant to be friends! So funny that we both worked at Jamba Juice - I worked there in high school and then transferred to Provo when I went to BYU. Awesome. And yes - save for the Vita Mix. It is awesome!
i've got to try that! Violet is sitting on my lap right now saying "fi! fi! Fi!" and trying to kiss the screen ha ha. oh thats too cute, yum that sounds so good
April.. I was one of those guilty customers at Costco who bought a Vitamix after a demo. I called Nick and asked him if I could buy me a blender and she said "sure, why not." Not knowing it cost so much $$$ After the shock of the price it has been the best thing I have EVER bought. We use it more than anything in my kitchen. I HIGHLY recommend it!!! If you like almond milk you can make your own in the vitamix and its soooo yummy!! Going to try that PB but I'll have to wait till Auty is asleep dang allergies :)
Looks so yummy! I've never made smoothies like that. We'll have to try it.
I totally agree with you about having another shower. I started making a list of everything that I've been using for 9 years, and I'm surprised most of still works. Not for long though, I'm sure. The smoothies look good!
I LOVE my blendtec! Sometimes they have shows at Costco for a pretty good deal. The thing I liked better than the vitamix was that it is smaller and not so bulky. Just my two cents though. LOVE IT!
We love smoothies at our house, too! I make mine like yours. Stuffed with spinach, fruit and milled flaxseed. Yum yum! The best part is that the kids think they're eating ice cream or something :) What I wouldn't give for a Vitamix!
