Well I've been a bit of a blog slacker lately. Just busy and not a lot going on around our house. And well for some reason we got through the winter without being sick (except Trent) and Spring hit and all the kids have been sick, colds, allergies, just guck. Finn has been sick since Sunday with just and awful cold. No fever but horrible gucky cough and runny nose. He is not a cuddly baby at all but the past few days I can't put him down or walk out of the room without him crying or wanting me. Poor guy.
Ruby was my super sick one! She came down with a super high fever a few times 103-104 and was complaining of her legs, head, and stomach hurting. She had a slight cold/cough but no other crazy symptoms. After seeing a PA in after hours and getting a diagnosis of kidney/bladder infection and not getting any better I finally got her in to her Dr (who is amazing and brilliant!) and she took one look and listen to her and said, "pneumonia!" Since our insurance doesn't cover anything except major medical she was nice enough to give me one day to get her to show improvement and if she didn't or her fever didn't drop, then off to the hospital we'd go.
Ruby was put on a strong antibiotic and had to do breathing treatments 4 times a day. Everytime I'd go in to check and see if she was done she was fast asleep.
This girl slept almost all day everyday for five days. And thanks to her pig pillow pet and her blankets she was always comfortable and comforted, but they were so contaminated after a few days of coughing, so, yes they were washed in very hot water!
But thanks to the strong medication and breathing treatments her fever stayed steady at 101 the whole next day never spiked and actually wanted to play for a few hours. So the Dr said she didn't need to go to the hospital. She is all better and now just has the "after cough" but she is doing great!
Our house and yard still need a lot of updating and improvements and we are slowly doing them. Last weekend Trent and Hudson pulled out this pine tree that was half dead in our backyard and I've been wanting it out because our kids love to climb these rocks but it was always in the way. It took a lot of hard work but they got it out.
We were thinking it would be a great place for a fire pit but now we're not so sure. I want Trent to move the slide over more to the middle and build a little playhouse, so stayed tuned for what we end up doing.
And since we've had a few days of good warm weather the Popsicles have come out. Trent introduced Finn to one and he loved it! He basically ate the whole thing.
Doesn't he look like a little boy and not a baby?
And since I never blogged about Easter here are a few pictures. We had a fun Easter egg hunt at Grandma's house. Ruby and her cousin Lily took a break from hunting to check out the baby goats.
Here are the kids Easter Sunday. I really need to get them some real Easter baskets. These buckets are just too darn big and hard to hold.
Getting ready to go on the hunt.
The whole week before Easter we read about what happened to Christ each day. So on Easter Sunday Trent finished the story taking about the resurrection and then we made Resurrection rolls for breakfast. They were so yummy and the kids had fun making them and helped them understand a bit more and help them remember why we were celebrating Easter.
This picture was taken quite awhile ago, but I had given Finn his first whole strawberry and it was so funny to watch him pull all kinds of faces. Although a bit sore, he loved it and made a big mess.
So there's a few updates. Hopefully in a few weeks I can show you the updates on the front of the house. We need to finish painting and landscaping but its coming a long great!

I'm glad Ruby is all better. The pictures of her sick are so sad. Finn is looking so grown up! :) It is sad to see them grow up. We are thinking we will probably have one more baby, but I totally get why it would be extra sad if it was your last one.
Popcicle baby boy! Finn looks like Violet in the last set of pictures! And love Ruby's gray polkadot shirt! So cute! Paisli has a gray and white polkadot little romper thing, we should take their pics together in them!
Nothing worse than little sick kids :( Your little Finn is so grown up I can hardly believe it!
I love those Easter pics below...you should just have your sister edit your belt and shoes pink!
I'm so glad Ruby is doing better! Hopefully you guys are done with sick kids now!
