The Zoo

Who in their right mind would go to the Zoo in 100 degree weather?
I guess us!
Oh man it was a hot one.  But Trents friend/mission companion was coming down from Idaho and wanted to know if we could meet his family at the zoo, we have gotten together a few times and its a lot of fun so we decided to go, even though Ruby woke up with a fever, it was hot, and we have a new baby. Yes we are crazy.  Finn was amazing as always he slept most of the time in the stroller. I did get him out at one point to cool him off under the misters and he loved it.  So did all of us.  Poor Ruby, she woke up with a fever but no other symptoms. We gave her meds and it dropped and she said she wanted to go, so we went. Well, she was great for an hour or so and got to see a few animals but when then the fever spiked again and she just stayed in the stroller the rest of the time. I felt so bad, imagine having a fever in 100 degree weather, so not fun. A new little stuffed Leopard made her day though and she hasn't put it down since.
Family pictures in front of the huge elephant are a must!
Our friends the Stewarts with their three kids. So fun. The kids got along great even though they have a girl, boy girl and we have a boy, girl, boy.
And no trip to the zoo is complete without a ride on the train.

They loved the new baby elephant.
We took Hudson to the zoo when he was 2, I was pregnant with Ruby and hadn't been back since so it was time.
I love how these two always pose like this when I have them take a picture together. Now if they only acted like that all the time.

Somewhat of a family picture in front of the giraffe. He was right behind us but it took the kids a few minutes to look at the camera so he walked away, as you see Ruby never did look, poor girl.
The kids riding the new carousel they loved it. I think it was the highlight of the day.

Next time we go I think we'll plan on cooler weather, healthier kids, and no baby.
