Heartbroken and want to help

I can't help but cry(ok bawl my eyes out) every time I turn on the tv and watch coverage of the earthquake in Haiti. Its truly so heartbreaking to see such a poor country with little to no resources be hit and impacted so hard.  I can't help but want to take these kids home with me so badly. I keep telling Trent, we can do it, we could give them the best home out there. He keeps saying, "I know how badly you want to take in a child right now, but we are having one of our own. Maybe someday we can." I understand where he's coming from, but some of these kids have nothing and I could do it.  I just feel so grateful right now for all I have. I have a wonderful, hardworking husbands, 2 beautiful healthy kids, I'm alive and well. And I'm 22 weeks pregnant and all is well. I am just grateful to live in America and have the resources, family, friends, and gospel. I really have nothing to complain about.  My life is great.
I've been trying to think of ways to help. We paid more on our Fast Offerings this month, knowing that money would be used wisely.  But I can't help but want to do more, I feel helpless. In my ward there are many girls who have family members and friends who have adopted children from Haiti and go down often to the orphanages to help.  I've meet some of these children and they are beautiful. I came across one of their blogs and she said that the worst thing her friends husband who is a Dr, who is currently down there right now had to deal with since arriving in Haiti in Tuesday was, "amputations." With this in mind, some of their family have decided to start collecting crutches to send to Haiti and the docs there thought it was a great idea. If you have access to crutches, old ones you aren't using, etc, please help out, here's how:

BRONZE EFFORT: Check your garage, closets, attics for the forgotten set of crutches and get them to a drop off location. (Goto www.crutchesforhaiti.blogspot.com for locations or you can drop them at my hosue and I can deliver them.)

SILVER EFFORT: Send this email to your list of friends and family...the more the better!

GOLD EFFORT: Coordinate a similar collection at your workplace, school, or church. Just send us an e-mail (maryannfuhriman@msn.com) and we'll let you know how to get started. Remember we want to be done by Friday, January 29th.

They have coordinated getting the crutches to Haiti with "Healing Hands for Haiti" who already have a container ready to ship. Check out the blog www.crutchesforhaiti.blogspot.com to see why they decided to do this as well as other logistical information.
FYI
Crutches need to be in working order with tips and pads (they are very hard to replace)
Healing Hands for Haiti has also indicated the GREAT need for wheelchairs and pediatric walkers. We'll take those too if you happen to have them.

Please let me know if any of you out there who live by me have any and I can coordinate with you on picking them up and delivering to the place that is needed. I have emailed them and I am more than willing to take this on and deliver to a place that is needed. However remember the deadline is this week. So try to locate some asap, or if you have a little extra cash lying around, purchase a pair or two.
Thanks so much. I know we all want to help and everything from money, to prayers is helps.
