The Call

Sunday night at 10:00 we got a phone call. Trent and I looked at each other like "who could that be?" It was my mom. We thought they had called to say they had made it home from their trip to California, but she was actually calling to say my brothers Mission Call came while they were gone and he didn't want to wait till morning to open it. The problem was our kids were asleep. She asked if she just wanted to go on speaker phone, we said, "Heck No!" So we got the kids in the car and drove over. As we arrived we were then told that Amy and Brody were still divining home from Cali and were in Provo and Jeff wanted to wait for them. So, I put the kids on my moms bed with a movie on, hoping they'd fall asleep but you can imagine the commotion with all his friends and family there guessing where he'd go and just the excitement, so they didn't. Amy and Brody finally showed up at 11:45, yeah late, and the opening begin. We all guessed places like Texas, Canada (where my dad went), Brazil, Australia, little did we know we were all wrong.

And he's going to.................. Ghana Cape Coast mission. Wow Africa? We were all shocked. Video to come soon. The crazy thing about it and why we were all screaming and Amy hugged him is because she went there 5 years ago for a service mission. She would always say that he was going to serve his mission there but little did she know she was right. I am so excited for him and nervous. He leaves on November 13 and goes straight to the MTC in Ghana. It is English speaking and he doesn't have to wear a suit or even dress clothes. I know he'll do great and I am so proud of him. And man that kid will be missed. My parents will be emptinesters, crazy.
