Anyways, I was getting some fabric out of some drawers I have down there and they are by the window well. Our window wells are big and deep. All of a sudden I look and see this HUGE, UGLY, DISGUSTING spider staring back at me, not moving. I think he was getting ready to charge. I seriously screamed I was so freaked out. Hudson thought it was so cool. I didn't dare move or do anything. You know when you see bugs you just get the willies and itch all over, well that happened and is right now. I think I was talking to my mom and trying to explain how huge the sucker was. I had never seen anything like it, I swear it was a baby tarantula. I called Trent and said, that's it, we are calling a bug guy and we are spraying for everything. I am so worried that because we live in the mountains, don't have a finished basement and we are the last block of homes before all these empty lots, that the bugs and everything else are going to make a home in ours.
Trent got home and when he went down there he was shocked, I don't think he believed me. He wanted to find a way to save it in a jar, such a boy thing, but when our friend Tyler came up and saw it he threw something down the window well and killed it. I am relieved but now every time I go down there I have to see its corpse. I am glad its dead, but I have a feeling it won't be the last. Anyone creaped out right now?
Oh and now Hudson won't go in the basement. We are finishing two rooms down there, one for a craft room, finally, and one for one of the kids so we have room when the baby comes. I have a feeling that Hudson will make Ruby sleep down there.

DISCUSTING!!!! AH! that is terrifying, wow i am never going in your basement! yikes, hopefully if you get everything sprayed then there won't be anymore, poor ruby or huddy if they have to sleep down there! once you get carpet in it shouldn't be so bad down there.
ewwww, I'm getting the willies just reading this. That's pretty yucky. We saw a few tarantulas wandering around in Missouri. Luckily they weren't close to our house. That's really gross that you have to look at it's corpse all tht time...
Ew!!! I HATE spiders! I do the same thing you do, I freeze, I get the cold sweats, they totally freak me out! Get that house sprayed! There have been black widows all around ours and we just had it sprayed, thank goodness!
I am terrified of spiders. As soon as we moved into this house we had a ton. Since we too were one of the first in our neighborhood they were invading us for killing there homes. So we got a bug guy to come out and we have them come quarterly it is cheaper that way and then we almost never have any spiders. WAY WORTH THE MONEY!
Nasty.. I hate spiders!!!
I am itching Yick I hate spiders creep me out
ooh, that is freaking huge! We had someone pray for bugs a couple of months ago and he set out these sticky traps in the basement and I was so freaked out by the size of the spiders that he killed. And that basement thing is so funny. Before our basement was finished I was freaked too-I always thought there was going to be like a homeless guy living in our food storage : )
Holy Cow! That is so creepy! I totally hate spiders more than anything. I am physically not able to step on them. So, I found the best bug killer at Sportsman's Warehouse. It looks like a tennis racket but it's a bug zapper. I would reccomend it for ya. And yes, I am itching!
I hate spiders with a passion! I have had near panic attacks over spiders half that size!
OH MY GOSH! I absolutely hate spiders and that hands down is the creepiest one I have EVER seen. I am so sorry! When we first moved into our house we too were the first on the street so I saw a lot of bugs and then I told BJ we needed to spray & ever since then I haven't seen ONE spider in my house! (knock on wood) so for sure spray & have them spray a few feet away from the outside of your house so they die outside and not by your base boards! Good Luck!
OH MY! We found one just like that in our window well too! It was huge but didn't move. So I poked it with a stick and it still didn't move. When Levi went to put it in a cup to show my Dad it jumped on him. They are sneaky little (or big) buggers. I think that is the only time that I have seen Levi almost pee his pants. We ended up trapping it and keeping it for almost a year. It came to it's demize when the dog found it and pounced on it.
Hi April. This post reminded me of when we first moved up here. There were so many bugs & we were one of the first families to move in also. Well, it turns out a family of mice moved in before we did. They were living inside the fireplace when we arrived. EWWWWWW!!!!! New construction is terribly difficult when it comes to rodents, vermin & insects. Since then, we have found voles, racoons, skunks, THE HUGEST freaking bug you've ever seen in your life (even bigger than your spider....a neighbor said it was called a Jerusalem Cricket??), a porqupine, and a little baby Mink wandering around our yard. Not to mention the larger wildlife. (deer, moose, etc.) Welcome to Mountain Green!
