Well, Ruby is 19 months now, crazy huh. And well, its no surprise when I say that she acts like a year and a half old. She is crazy. All she does is talk and get into everything. She is quite the little independent child. I took her and Hudson to their Well Child Checks and here are some of the stats.
Ruby's 18 month check up
Height- 33 inches 90%
Weight-24.6 lbs 60%
The Dr. said she is very verbal for her age and because she tells me every time she has poop, the Dr said she is ready to start potty training. YIKES. I think that is one of the most horrible things to do. So this week I am getting out the potty and we'll just take it slow and see what happens. I am no hurry to clean up poop and pee off the floor in my brand new house. She has all her teeth but 2 back molars. She is basically a healthy, normal little girl. She's just going to be tall and skinny which is what I wish I was.
Hudson's 4 year check up
Height-42 inches 80%
Weight-34.4lbs 32%
Well according to the Dr. Hudson is a very smart little boy, which we already knew. He answered all her questions and was able to even pass a few tests that the children going into kindergarten do. She said he is also athletic, because of a few tests he did. So hopefully we'll have another soccer/b-ball player on our hand. The Dr. wasn't worried one bit about him other than his migraines/cyclic vomiting may start up again. I am not looking forward to that so hopefully it won't.
For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about when Hudson turned 11 months he started vomiting all the time. He would get these crazy high fevers and then throw up but it was always straight bile. Well, one day, it got really bad that I took him into the Dr. and she immediately hospitalized him. He was severely dehydrated and in tons of pain. He was in the hospital for 3 days and had every test done possible. Which is horrible to see your little baby go through so much pain. Every scary thing they thought he might have, luckily he didn't. A month later it started all over. It came in a cycle every time. He started to act the same and the same things would happen, it was always about every three weeks. So we were sent to a specialist who diagnosed him with Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome. Its basically reoccurring bouts of nausea and vomiting, thought to be brought on by migraines. He was given a few different medications and they seemed to work. So after a few months on them he didn't have to take them anymore. He luckily hasn't had a spell since then. But the Dr. said that it usually goes away for a few years and comes back when they are school age. So we are crossing our fingers that it doesn't. Trent and I still think he just had a weird sickness the summer of his first birthday and hopefully it is gone. So all in all I have two healthy, smart children.
