Well everyone, I am in need of some help. I need a new vacuum. When we got married we just purchased a cheap dirt devil from Target and it worked great at all our little apartments and stuff. Well, then we moved into a new house a few years ago that had brand new shaggy carpet. I love it, but its so hard to vacuum. Mine just doesn't do the trick. If I had it my way, I would vacuum everyday. I love the look of newly vacuumed carpet with the lines. But alas, my vacuum sucks, or should I say doesn't suck. It can't get anything up from the carpet. I end either picking up things I can see by myself or using the hose. And that's no way to vacuum. We called a local vacuum shop to ask for some advise and he said that the bag vacuums work better than say the Dyson's or other canister ones. But I just don't know.
I know my mom wants me to get a new vacuum because every week I end up borrowing hers, thanks mom.
So, if any of you have the same kind of carpet or know of a good vacuum then let me know. So if you have any vacuum advice send it my way.

i got shaggy type carpet, i have a dyson & i love it.
I have purchased many a vacuum to give away for prizes in my work (people love 'um). I have also bought a number of vacuums.
As longs as you don't buy from a door to door sales person, you pay for what you get! We got that same dirt devil at Target and sucks! Well I guess I should say it doesn't suck. The only one that I have found that truly stands up to what it sells, is the Dyson.

we have shag carpet and a bagless vacuum and it sucks SO good, but i have to empty it every other time i use it because the shag sheds so much, so i'm glad i don't have a bag. I like being able to see when it is full.
my next will be a dyson. yummy
We got one from Grandma and Grandpa for our wedding and its from Costco, I like it but I don't know any different. You should look there! Costco's the best!
I have to say, I love my bag vacuum compared to my old canister one. I would never go back!
I have the dyson, and it is seriously amazing...you will not beleive what you get out from your carpet when you use it for the first time. Vacuum with an old vacuum, and then use the Dyson, and it is crazy. We bought one, and my parents borrowed it after using theirs, and immediately bought the Dyson--they were so grossed out by what their old vacuum wasn't picking up!
Just get a vacuum already! It doesn't matter what just get one! He he!
Trent's family gave us the yellow dyson for our wedding and it seriously is amazing. I love it so much I find myself vacuuming just to vacuum. I will never use another vacuum other than a dyson.
Dyson is the only way to go. I LOVE mine. It's the best vacuuming experience you'll ever have. Watch Target. Sometimes they offer great deals on dysons.
