Anniversary Trip to Seattle, WA

Trent sure spoiled me on this trip for sure. I tried to take good pictures, but for some reason our camera was acting up. It all started last Wednesday, we boarded the plane to Seattle and when we arrived it was perfect weather, no rain, a little overcast, but just great. We got to our hotel, man what a hotel. We stayed at the Marriott Waterfront. It was the only hotel on the water, they gave us a room with a balcony and a view of the ocean. The room had a king size bed with a down comforter and tons of pillows, one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in.
We then headed up to Pikes Place Market. It was so cool. All the booths and fish and food, yummy. We pretty much walked the whole trip. Our hotel was within walking distance of the shopping, Pikes Place, and the Monorail that takes you too the space needle.
We took the monorail, to the Space Needle for dinner. It was so fun to eat dinner on the top, it spins too so you get an entire view of Seattle. The food was delish, I got fresh salmon and Trent got a steak. It was super fun. Our concierge from our hotel even ordered up a free appetizer for our Anniversary.
Thursday was somewhat of a bummer day, only because it rained almost the whole time and its the day I realized I left my book bag on the bus that took us to our hotel. It had our video camera in it, my make-up, and some books and magazines. I was a little upset that I didn't have any make-up to put on that morning, but really upset because our video camera with all our videos was in it.I was really upset and hoped we'd get it back.
We took a Ferry to Bainbridge Island Thursday and walked around the little town there. I loved all the huge houses on the waterfront. I could definitely live in one of those. The rest of the day we spent shopping and touring the city of Seattle on foot, yes in the rain. We broke two umbrellas and were sopping wet. We had to go to the headquarters of Nordstroms of course, we lucked out too, it was their half-yearly sale and it was Clinque gift time. The girl at the Clinque counter was super nice and gave me a make-over perfect for our special dinner that night. I bought some base and got the gift. Since we were hoping our bag would be found I just got the rest of the make-up basics at the store.
That night we took a limo, to and from Salty's, courtesy of the restaurant, way better and cheaper than a cab, only cost us a really good tip. It was on the other side of Seattle, so your view is of the city, and you are right on the water. Click on the Salty's link above to see the view from their website. Trent ordered the Dungeness Crab and I got the Halibut. It was so good and I think one of the highlights of our trip.
Friday we took the monorail again to the space needle and went to the EMP, Experience Music Project. It was so cool and Trent sure was in heaven. It is a hands on music museum. They have sound booths for vocal, drums, guitar, and bass that you can spend 10 minutes in and learn or mess around. There is a big theater in there that plays different concerts and tells all about the place. We even got to record our own CD. I played the drums, just an easy rhythm and Trent played the guitar. We bought the CD so if any of you want to here it you can.
Anyways, I know this is getting long. That night we ate at a really nice Chinese Restaurant, super good and really nice. I think everyone thought we were weird for not ordering any wine or coffee, you know Seattle is big on both of those.
We got up Saturday and went back up to Pikes Place to get some breakfast and shop a little bit and then we boarded the bus to go to the airport. Oh, the bus company finally got in touch with us and my bag was on the bus. Yeah, I was super relieved.
It was such a fun trip. I really love Seattle and really love my hubby for taking me. It was super fun to get away and have a break, but I really missed the kids and I am glad to be back.

That trip sounds awesome. You guys are living it up gangsta style. Freaking lucky they found the backpack. Right on! Can't wait to see the footage. I wish I could have been there, the three of us would have had a killer time.
