A Parasite?

Well, remember a month ago when I wrote about Ruby being so sick with the diarrhea/flu that was going around? Well, she has it again, only this time her Dr is suspecting either cryptosporidium, e coli, salmonella, or giardia. I took her to the Dr today because I wanted to know what was up because she just got over this. Also because her little bum is bright red and she screams bloody murder when I try to clean it, and she won't drink her bottle's. Poor thing, but for being as sick as she is, she is so good, hardly crying, just moaning and wants to be held. Still playing with toys though and crawling and climbing like crazy. Last night it was so bad, the diarrhea and worst diaper rash I have ever seen, we had Trent give her a blessing so that she could relax and sleep.
The first thing her Dr asked was if we had been camping or swimming lately. I said yeah, a week in Bear Lake and Jackson, she didn't even hesitate after that, she knew she probably had a parasite. I felt horrible. So I am having to get a stool sample from a baby, and it can't touch the diaper so I have to put saran wrap in her diaper. Now all of you know that saran wrap doesn't absorb well, so, well lets just leave it at that. We should get results for the giardia today, but because its a weekend we won't find out the results until Monday, maybe Tuesday because Monday is Labor day. So we just have to treat the symptoms, keep her hydrated and hope that she's going to be OK. I hate it when my little kids are sick, they just look at you with those sad, sick eyes, so sad.
